Welcome to the Kern Regional Center Home Page on the Internet. KRC is proud to share information about who we are and what we do. In addition, from our web site you will be able to access other information related to developmental disabilities. We are one of California's 21 Regional Centers which coordinate community-based services to California's 225,000 citizens who have developmental disabilities. KRC serves about 6,300 people in Kern, Inyo and Mono Counties. Our counties cover approximately 22,000 square miles with a population of 811,000 people.
Over the last three months, we, the Board of Directors of Kern Regional Center, have had the opportunity to interview remarkable individuals with many special gifts and talents for the position of Chief Executive Officer. In the proces, we narrowed our prospects down to three outstanding, highly qualified professionals.
The Board of Directors would like to officially announce the selection of Duane A. Law to fill the very vital role of Chief Executive Officer and to continue the vision of Kern Regional Center: Working Hand-in-Hand, Supporting Equality, Independance and Opportunity for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities. Mr. Law's background includes working in various industries and systems that serve individuals with Developmental Disabilities in other states. His experiences will bring fresh insights and perspectives as Kern Regional Center faces new challenges in our future.
The Board would also like to thank the KRC employees, vendors, clients, families and the community for their support and trust during this transition. We recognize that during this period, you have been instrumental in keeping the focus on the very individuals we are here to serve.
Sincerely,
The Board of Directors
Kern Regional Center.
